In Basic English, the worksheets for your experiment tasks were always handed out on the day. This semester, some of the instructions will be in this blog and you will need to check them before the lesson starts.

How do we get students to check instructions posted online? My students' email boxes are often full. They don't reliably check what's posted on Blackboard. They email me to ask What was our assignment? instead of looking.

With the group that this blog is aimed at, we have had them checking the News Forum in the Course Moodle each week to find out the work they are have to do. (This work was then tested, but not covered in class.) They are now aware of this requirement, so I mean to continue, but through the blog as well as the forum.

I think leaving the handouts in the blog is a wonderful idea to hook your students. Little by little they'll get used to it! Congratulations!
